All things climbing!
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Lot of feelings about this comp. This was my first full week of setting after having top surgery in December. It's been challenging to take a step back from climbing and setting to let my body heal. I wasn't sure how much I could contribute to the team. Everyone was so encouraging, it was a good reminder that I have value even when I'm not climbing my strongest. So proud of my friend for chiefing her first event, for this crew for choosing to use their gifts to create such an uplifting event, and grateful for spaces like this. Thanks @bouldersgym for letting us put on this event.

It’s hard to put into words how I’m feeling after chiefing my first competition, but I feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and gratitude. After months of planning and a busy week of setting, it all came together yesterday.

I’m beyond thankful for my team. This crew demonstrated the attitudes, openness, and curiosity that we need more of in setting. I hope you all know how valuable you are.

Flight of the Phoenix is about more than the “best climbers.” It’s about creating a space for a community that is often underestimated to feel empowered, and I think we did that.

Thank you @bouldersgym for supporting this comp and for giving us this opportunity!

Wish I could share all the happy moments and all the boulders we set in this post, but you just had to be there 😉 here are some of my favorite moments from finals.

Vail part 1 will be more about the overall experience and part 2 will be my normal postmortem comp break down.

Wow what a weekend, I dont even really know what to say about it. I am so happy to walk away with the win, thats a good place to start. Things feel like they are coming together.

Its been a long time goal to win a National level competition and I guess I just achieved that goal. Which is a surreal feeling because it feels totally expected and also not real. Vail is always stacked with high level competitors, a great venue and an incredible crowd! This comp was made even more special by the people that I shared it with.

My mom got to see me compete and catch my first adult win. I owe a lot of where I am now to her so it was speacial to have her there to witness it. My close friend Rob came out to shoot his first comp and see my first NACS win which was a very cool moment to share. Basically all my close friends from MN showed up to compete and support which really meant a lot. I am very lucky to have you all in my life and this result is partially owed to you all, so thank you ❤️❤️. Everyone that has been a part of the journey has helped me more than they know and I am forever grateful. No one ever achieves anything big alone and I am incredibly fortunate to have you all apart of my life and journey. I guess this weekend was overall pretty dang perfect, which is a very strange feeling indeed.
