Introducing the Best of Design 2026 jury!

This year, AN brought together a panel of award-winning architects, landscape architects, curators, and critics whose work has shaped leading innovations and conversations within the field. The jury spans background, geography, and expertise, just as the awards’ categories do, and will asses entries with an eye toward strength of the presentation, evidence of innovation, creative use of new technology, sustainability, and, most importantly, good design.

The jurors will determine the winners of this international, project-based award program, including the Project of the Year. These winners and finalists will be published online as well as in print in AN’s Best of 2026 issue, which will continue to be distributed throughout 2027.

Tanya Bush doesn’t separate baking from storytelling. The pastry chef at Brooklyn café Little Egg and co-founder of the cult literary magazine Cake Zine has built a career where desserts double as narrative devices. Her new book, 'Will This Make You Happy?', is part memoir, part cookbook, following a year when baking became a lifeline through post-grad uncertainty and post-pandemic drift. Made 7” flexi disc records (edition of 300) with @lucas__dupuy and Carhartt WIP to celebrate the recent closing of Lucas Dupuy’s New York solo show ‘Memory Root’ at island Gallery @island83gallery.

The flexi disc features a five minute section of the sound component of ‘Memory Root’, created in collaboration with artist DJ Trystero @st._giga.

Free copies of the 7” flexi are available at WIP Brooklyn, while supplies last, 132 Bedford Ave, 11249.
 The celebration comes at the end of a larger project between Dupuy and WIP, in which we supported his NY solo show ‘Memory Root’ and produced a video directed by Nic Boozang @nboozang with Dupuy in conversation with writer Isabel Ling @isabellinging on the show.

Dupuy’s ‘Path’, 2025 and ‘Air X’, 2025 are permanent works of art at Carhartt WIP’s Brooklyn retail.

$It’s the last few days to visit ‘Memory Root’ at @island83gallery in New York. The show includes a 5-channel sound installation in collaboration with DJ Trystero @st._giga ‘What is the frequency of memory? In Memory Root, Lucas Dupuy is interested in the gaps between repetition and replication. His paintings begin as airbrush studies, which are then photographed and rephotographed again. An exercise in translation, Dupuy extracts his final forms from this process before reproducing them in paint on large canvases.
