We concluded Project BodyWise 2026 last Monday, and honestly, it was a really good experience for me and the team at @formyboysinitiative_

From school to school, we had some really interesting conversations with the boys. We talked about personal hygiene, body changes, speaking up about harassment, boundaries and taking care of themselves.

I honestly enjoyed seeing how comfortable the boys became with asking questions. Some of the questions were really thoughtful, some were funny, but most importantly, they were willing to learn and have the conversation.

I think we sometimes assume boys will just figure these things out on their own, but there are so many things they need to be taught, especially at this stage of their lives.

I’m really glad we got to do this.

Project BodyWise 2026, done. On to the next✊🏾

Our next stop was JSS Jabi, where we had another engaging session with the boys.

The boys participated actively, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their experiences as we explored personal hygiene, body awareness, healthy boundaries, and speaking up.

Another school, another conversation, another opportunity to help boys understand and care for themselves.

Our first stop was JSS Apo Resettlement

The boys were engaged, interactive, and very willing to learn as we explored important conversations around personal hygiene, body care, boundaries, and speaking up about harassment.

We also had the opportunity to hear from the school’s Principal and Director of Guidance and Counselling, who shared practical insights with the boys.

A strong start to Project BodyWise.

On 25th June 2026, we successfully wrapped up the Boys Nexus Conference, marking the culmination of a 12-week journey through the Boys Leading Change Project.

Over the past three months, 42 boys from six government junior secondary schools didn’t just learn about leadership, they practised it.

At the conference, each team pitched the project they had designed and implemented to address a challenge within their school or community. From environmental campaigns and reading clubs to anti-bullying initiatives and community hygiene projects, the boys showed what is possible when young people are trusted with responsibility and given the opportunity to lead.

This wasn’t just the end of a programme. It was the beginning of many leadership journeys.

A heartfelt thank you to @joinkwanda and @ashokaafrica for believing in this vision and making this project possible. Your support gave these boys the opportunity to discover their voice, lead with confidence, and create meaningful change in their communities.

We’re just getting started. Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing more moments from the conference, highlights from each school’s project, and the incredible stories behind the impact these boys created.
