So much sadness has happened over the last few weeks. Death and destruction seem to be at everyone’s doorstep. At times, it feels like there’s no good news anymore…no reason to smile, no reason to believe things will get better.

Then I slow down and remember.

The phone calls and visits with family. Summer evenings that turn into late-night conversations about our dreams. Doing little favors for friends. Sending handwritten thank-you notes. Belting out my favorite song with the wind blowing through my hair after a long swim in the pool.
Summer is wrapping up, and I can honestly say this has been one of my favorite summers. And somehow, it has also been one of the most heartbreaking.Maybe both things can be true. There is still so much beauty in this life. There is still laughter, connection, kindness, music, friendship, love, and hope. And sometimes, those small moments are what carry us through the hardest ones.Hope and love are reason enough to keep going. To keep showing up. To keep choosing kindness. To keep finding the light, even when the world feels unbearably dark. The joy is still there.
I love you all.

It’s a lot going on. I have struggled with negative self talk and second guessing myself in the past few weeks. The world is thick with uncertainty so I have been really working on how I speak to myself. Which is hard! For so long I felt that beating myself up was the best method for me to encourage myself but if things didn’t work out it causes a full cycle of negativity. The world right now is already so tough; so being so critical of myself only causes more harm. I want to encourage everyone to be kind to themselves. Like… Truly being kind to self. Read the book Try Softer. Fill yourself with good things.

Enjoy some pineapple juice this weekend.
