⁉️What is a “pushy” arm action⁉️
⚡️“Pushing” in this case is referring to the elbow racing in-front of the shoulder line at the point of max external rotation.
Taking a look at the first picture of @ishaan_khambal40,
You can notice how well he keeps his elbow in line with his shoulders (no climb or push), and how the ball lays back in the same plane his shoulders are rotating. If he was “pushing” the ball, we would see the elbow moving towards where the blue “X” is.
When the elbow races in-front of the shoulders, this should indicate the arm being tense during layback, & being very tricep dominant rather than utilizing the pec & the spine to create a more efficient unwinding of the arm.
For athletes who are working on this in our facility, we have go through an Indian Club Progression (Video 1) to feel these positions without actually having to throw a baseball.
We also have two drill constraints (video 2) that we blend into Plyo & Catch drills to emphasize these positions even more;
1. Abbreviated Arm Action 💪🏻
2. Figure 8’s⚡️
For more instructions on the drills, feel free to DM us or email info@kpimh.com for answers.

Congratulations to 2024 Platinum’s Burke Mabeus (@burkemabeus) on his commitment to the Horned Frogs! A standout switch hitting catcher that had the athleticism to play all over the field, and he’ll tell ya too! The bat plays large, the @PGSelectFest will be making a name for himself out of Coronado High School in Henderson, NV! That makes a Frog commit in 2022, 2023, and 2024 classes now !

Here are the 13 2024 @troskynationalbaseball & Platinum dudes ranked the top 250 2024 players in the county, done by @perfectgameusa. 6th tool nation is getting stronger and stronger every season. The guys who are recognized are not content with their spot and will continue to climb, the guys left off this list will let this fuel them everyday in the weight room, on the field, and in the classroom. Congratulations and keep grinding boys! Can’t wait to get back on the field again!

Here’s a fitting throwback Thursday picture of the newest @arizonabaseball commit Ishaan Khambal (@ishaan_khambal40). In the photo on the right is young Ishaan (9 years old) who played up at the 12u level that season. It was pretty apparent that this kid was special but who woulda known he’d be on of the top players in the nation. Congrats on your commitment Ish! #BearDown🐻⬇️ #ThrowbackThursday

I am blessed and honored to announce my commitment to further both my academic and athletic career and play division 1 baseball at the University of Arizona. I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches that have supported me and developed me into the person and player I am today. Special thanks to coach Vart and coach Abe for helping me throughout this recruiting process and Coach Yeskie and Coach Johnson in trusting me and giving me this opportunity to play at the next level. #beardown @nextleveledit

Movement is king.
#
Helping our athletes move better is always the number one goal.
#
How you move in the gym is how you on the field.
#
Really good to see #rtstrong athlete @ishaan_khambal40 moving better and throwing the ball well.
#
He has put in a lot of work, and it’s good to see it paying off.
#
Pretty impressive for someone that hasn’t played a high school game yet.

Resisting trunk rotation has helped him make jump to 88-89 over the last month.

His increase in velo has been about focusing on healthy, repeatable mechanics first. We haven’t even talked about velocity, just about becoming efficient.

Situation hitting last night with the boys!! These nights can be tough on the boys if they do not execute. It can be difficult to get young hitters to buy in when working on situational hitting. We put the hitters in specific situations in live and if they do not execute they miss out on the rest of the round. After they get better at executing, we work on hitting the ball with authority as well. No one wants to see you move a runner over from 2nd w/ no outs on a 46 hopper to the second basemen!!!! Hit the ball hard!!!

We would like to congratulate 2024 @trosky_kali_baseball & @troskynationalbaseball stud @ishaankhambal_40 on his selection to represent the 14U West @pgselectfest squad!!! This is as high of an honor that a 14 year old can achieve for travel baseball. Ishaan took the quarantine time very seriously and dedicated his time towards his development. Ishaan’s fastball was up to 79 to start the quarantine and now he is up to 87mph! There is no secret to these gains other than good ole’ fashion, hard work! With his dedication and his god given ability, sky is the limit for Ishaan! Help us congratulate Ishaan!!!
