Where to start?
Because I’m not sure I can say anything other than what a disastrous comp this was.
Disappointed and upset that this was how my second comp finished up.
After battling a back injury for the last 4 months, being on my cycle and being weak due to trying to make weight I guess I was probably never going to have a good day.

I should have probably not competed. But being new to the sport and not wanting to quit, I turned up. I tried but the truth is I just didn’t have it in me on the day. No excuses, just that.

Squats: Even though I opened with my last comps PR that’s all I managed. Equal comp PR 75kg)

Bench: Got my two lifts but my 50kgs still didn’t go up on the third so I keep chasing the elusive 50. 5kg comp PR. (47.5kg)

Deads: Had to be realistic and scale down the lifts. Got all three but only managed an equal comp PR (112.5kgs)

Total: 235kg BW: 55.26kg
Comp PR: 5kgs (saved by bench)

3rd place in the overall U56kg category.

Thank you to my amazing husband who was there to support me through all the lows. And there were lots. You kept me from losing it.
And then you went and smashed your first comp and made my shit day turn awesome because I was so bloody proud of your effort. My husband is a national record holder. Fucking legend.

Thank you so much to the amazing @ishbel.strongself . Even though Ish had 6 of her own lifters that day she still took the time to review my warm up and lift plan and helped me make decisions on lifts after failures.

Without these two my disaster of a day would have been catastrophic I think.

Well done to @strength.tribe for putting on an amazing comp. Just 👏 Commendable 👏

The spotters. You guys definitely pushed me on those deads and I appreciate you 🙏
Also you saved me twice 🙏
The work these volunteers put in is a real testament to a wonderful lcommunity.

Thanks to everyone who sent me good luck messages and checked in on me after comp. I appreciate you all. ♥️

Now we go get scans. We heal.
We take time off.
We take time to reassess the reasons why.
Next year. New goals.
