long beach half marathon — i knew i wanted to run 13 miles in october to honor my mother’s birthday on october 13th, but i had no idea how much this journey would heal so many parts of me 🤍

i felt her all around me. i saw so many signs from her along the way, little reminders that she was with me every step of the way. and to have my girls there for me at the finish line, showing me that i have family who will show up for me, truly meant the world!

this run was about love, healing, and feeling close to my angels in a way i can’t even put into words. angels are SO real, and i’m forever grateful for mine. 🪽🎀💐👑 #longbeachmarathon #halfmarathon #runner

As of July 19th, 2026 I am officially ONE YEAR SOBER from alcohol!

Its still kinda unbelievable and I’ve been drinking for so long that it felt like a major aspect of my life, but I’m happy to have discovered that it’s not a necessary part of my life.
.
I’ve for so long processed my life through the lens of intoxication that when faced with the difficulties and beauty of life sober, I realized the work that still needed to be done. Life has certainly thrown some major curveballs at me this past year and moving through it was some of the biggest challenges of my life. But there have been some incredibly beautiful moments and witnessing the love that surrounds me has made me feel more alive than any drink could. From getting major health news, to traveling sober, celebrating my birthday and Pride sober for the first time ever!! Lawdd shyt wasnt easy lol.
