UNDER THE SCOPE

We are quietly told we have to choose: are you a “science person” or an “art person”? With the growing distinction between these two fields, Under the Scope resists this separation and explores the interdisciplinary applications of art, science, and fashion by merging microbiology with wearable design. Instead of treating lab work and fashion as separate worlds, we imagine a future human who literally wears her relationship to the
microscopic—veins, vines, blooms, and growths crawling over her in bright, multicolour layers. She stands between two white-coated lab assistants, caught somewhere between experiment and ritual, specimen and style icon
