@nicolajanehobbs words resonate so deeply ♥️ she continues in the caption on her original post: “I cannot have a nap or take a long, hot bath or lie down in a dark, quiet room. But I can gently moisturise my face as my baby splashes in the bath beside me. I can slowly eat a satsuma while we sit on the kitchen floor and play. I can pause and turn my face towards the sun while hanging the washing out to dry.
These tiny rest rituals might seem too small to matter but to a nervous system in survival mode, they are medicine. To a mother in the thick of it, they are nourishment. To a woman stretched thin by responsibilities, with no space to fall apart, they are sacred moments of healing.
Rest doesn’t always need solitude and stillness. Often, the most powerful forms of rest are those that we weave into the sacred chaos of life.”

🤍 What is your favourite tiny rest ritual?
