Thank you so much to everyone who has supported this journey so far it means soso much to me🤎🤎 Today is not only launch day but also my mom's birthday. It will be almost two years since my mom passed away. Grieving her has been such a complex journey in my life and definitely has not been something I can simply just "get over". There is a lot of things that I didn't realize would happen after my mom's death. People have treated me like a charity case, painted me as constantly being "depressed," ungrateful, dismissed my emotions, invalidated my pain as if my pain should have a "timeframe".

The truth is that I don't really blame people. Helping people cope with grief has never been part of the standard curriculum, which is why the false assumptions have had a really negative impact on my mental health. It really made me realize the importance of feeling heard and how society sees you can be so different from how you see yourself. That is exactly what cast(e) eyes is all about. It's about acknowledging all the eyes that see you whether it be yourself, a family member, a friend, the media, etc. By owning your narrative and addressing the misconceptions that society labels you, can be such an empowering feeling and is just the start of creating a community that cares🤎
