There is something for me that can be powerful and important about being in spaces like this. Rooms filled with people who are thinking, connecting, questioning, learning…

Lovely to have some golden nuggets, some shared wisdom, some new studies to engage with, some things named that align and validate, some things that spark curiosity or connect the dots, or reminders you of things that you haven’t thought about for ages.

And maybe more so as the focus of the conference is around dissociation. An area so often hidden, minimised, dismissed, misunderstood, and silenced.

Also lovely to hear about the progress, distance travelled, the power of persistence, and the evolution of the field. Where it was and where it is and where it hopes to go. Helpful reminder of the ongoing mission and vision (for me my North Star and compass) and what is possible (in this conference described as dream storming) and as an act of resistance against activist burnout and to keep going. @isstd_hq

What an honor and pleasure to chair the 2026 L1 hypnosis training for the International Society of Stress and Traumatic Dissociation (ISSTD) @isstd_hq this past weekend in Arlington, VA! Thanks to my amazing faculty (pictured here) and our group of 30 therapist attendees!

Just before at the dismantlement of System Speak website there was an opening for new board members. The very day all new board members were to show up on zoom, they were locked out! Was it because #emmasunshaw took the money from the 501c3 and ran across statelines?

IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING!

Emma Sunshaw/ System Speak/ 3CS

Emma Sunshaw Christensen Thomas Brown Barrett, I want to have an open and public conversation with you. Some will see this as attacking you, but what it really is is protection for me and all of those with CPTSD.

I have donated thousands to you in the last two years. I have flown thousands of miles to attend your symposium. I have encouraged others to support you and the cause.

Agradecido.

Healing from trauma isn’t about “getting over it.” It’s about listening to your body and letting healing move like water, flowing in its natural rhythm.💧 You don’t have to be fast. You just have to be present.

If your body feels like it’s in danger, particularly when you’re safe, it’s not overreacting.
It’s overprotecting.
Therapy helps you unlearn and re-teach your nervous system the difference.
