That’s a wrap on Heat Week 2026 ❤️‍🔥

It was never just about the 7 days.
This is where we get to see all of our hard work and consistent training come to life. Because we continue to show up week after week, we’ve built the strength, confidence and resilience to prove to ourselves that we can take on any challenge that comes our way.

Hellooo my people!!! It’s that time of year again - year 7 of the GFWU charity event. Feeling sooooo good and ready to get my little community together for a month of being active - all in the name of a some great causes.

This year all of the donations will be going to The International Rescue Committee, an amazing organization that strives to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster, including the climate crisis, to survive, recover and gain control over their future. The IRC’s main areas are economic wellbeing, education, empowerment, health, safety - with a constant focus on women and girls.

Obviously my little fitness event is a small operation in the grand scheme of things, but when you add up the 7 years and see the donations totaling over $10k to help multiple causes/charities.. that’s not nothing. It’s super beautiful and motivating to see the results of this little thing I started up out of the blue.

For those that don’t know, this fitness charity event starts every August 1st and goes until August 31st. The goal of the challenge is for each participant to complete 100 miles (running or walking) within that timeframe. We track everyone’s miles using the Nike Run Club app, which allows all of the competitors to see a live leaderboard. The first runner/walker to complete 100 miles gets a $25 gift card of their choice!

ANYONE CAN PARTICIPATE!!! All you have to do is donate a minimum of $15 to the fund. You can do this by directly donating to the GoFundMe that has been created for this event OR you can Venmo me @ michael-cipriani-2. Either way works!

I’m endlessly grateful for all the people that go out of their way to join this event every year, donate, and spread the word. I could never do this alone. SEVEN years is crazy - i say it every year but it makes me emotional to think about the first year and how it’s still kicking and people are still enjoying it… anyways, please please please don’t be afraid to participate or share with a friend. Using physical activity to support a great cause brings me an immense amount of joy, I’d love for you to be involved. Thank you 🫶🏼
