🌆 Lately the word ‘Village’ is what I’ve been using to describe us as a unit even though we reside in the concrete jungle. What a blessing to develop alongside each other in our respective fields and watch each others children’s born and grow. Even if takes some warming up to earn that hug.😉 👈🏾 Scroll and watch to see what I mean. 💻 Click here for full episode👉🏾 https://youtu.be/JOZ0WJon_5Y?si=9VJEmVYMGheCxTa7 💚May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we are celebrating 20 years of OPEN! 🌟 🎭We kick things off with a discussion about the grippling new play, “Five Sessions…A War in Therapy.” as we chat with Actor Ivan Goris! 🔥Next up, young entrepreneur Zaire Benjamin from SoHarlem shares all the details about his fresh fashion line, Project ZA! 👗 📚 We’re also thrilled to welcome authors Dr. Miguel ‘David’ Gelpi and Laraine Batís-Gelpi, who will introduce their co-authored book, The Road of the 78 Prayers.🇵🇷 🌟And our Open Artist Spotlight shines on the South Bronx Culture Festival. Meet SoHarlem Young Entrepreneur Zaire Benjamin. He has recently launched his latest collection: Project Za. “Project Za is for the people who were never meant to blend in. The people born to stand different. Born to disrupt. Born to make rooms uncomfortable just by being fully themselves. This brand is built off rebellion, break-through, whimsy, chaos, hood genius, and raw vision. I’m not interested in playing it safe or making “normal” clothes. I like distortion. I like exaggeration. I like making people question what fashion is supposed to look like. You gotta be comfortable with controversy if you really tryna push something forward. That’s power. Being the only odd one in the room and still standing tall—that’s power. Making people laugh, stare, feel confused, inspired, uncomfortable, all at once—that’s art to me. Project Za mixes fantasy with the block. Loud silhouettes. Weird props. Polka dots. Controlled chaos. Humor mixed with pain. Childlike energy mixed with rebellion. It’s serious and unserious at the same time. This is for the people who don’t ask for permission to create. The people who rather be remembered than accepted. The people bold enough to turn their weirdness into identity. This ain’t quiet. This ain’t normal. This ain’t made to fit in. This is proof @TheProjectZa @IsThatZaii TikTok @ZiggyZagZaii #MakerMondays #ItsAlwaysFashionWeekAtSoHarlem #CreativeEntrepreneur
