I had the opportunity to work behind the scenes on the positioning and media visibility of @rewardbeatz, helping take his work beyond the studio and into the conversation.

The result? Interviews, features, and conversations across different platforms, giving the person behind the music a little more of the spotlight.

A reminder that PR isn’t just about getting attention. It’s about knowing what to say, how to position it, and where it needs to be seen. 😉

What does “Africa to the World” really mean and why do most artists get their branding backwards?

At @afronation 2026, @thebeatsofafrica sat down with @iameze, VP of @empire.africa, and @ezetimestwo, owner of @danceandgohome, for a raw, no-filter conversation about building African music brands that actually travel.
From the biggest mistake artists make when marketing across African markets, to why “you can’t be local everywhere and a local nowhere,” this is one of the most quotable branding conversations to come out of @afronation this year.

The spotlight doesn’t stop- Behind every rollout, sold-out show, viral interview, unforgettable rave, and career-defining moment are women pushing the culture forward, managing talent, breaking records on radio, curating communities, directing visuals, and opening doors for the next generation.. pt.2

This is our appreciation post to some of the women whose work continues to shape Afrobeats and Nigeria’s creative industry 💐

Nigeria has never lacked voices capable of moving the world. From the revolutionary genius Fela Kuti to the timeless brilliance of King Sunny Adé, and from the global rise of Burna Boy, Wizkid and Tems, Nigeria has continuously blessed the world with extraordinary music. Among the artists writing its next chapter is Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, the artist the world has come to know as Oxlade.

Oxlade represents a generation of Nigerian artists whose greatest strength is not only their talent, but their ability to carry home with them wherever they go.

Raised in Lagos, Oxlade’s journey reflects the Nigerian tradition of collective care, where a child’s path is carried by many hands. After the passing of his mother when he was three, he was embraced by the love and guidance of his father and grandmother. His grandmother played an important role in developing his gift for singing, introducing him to music through the church. From Away to KU LO SA and his debut album Oxlade From Africa, his music has helped introduce a new generation to his special sound.

Knowing where you come from goes hand in hand with success. As Bose Ogulu (Burna Boy’s mother) reminded us: “Every black person should please remember that you were Africans before you became anything else.”

That is what I see in Oxlade. He allows me to understand what it means to be Nigerian because he carries home in everything he does in his music, his style, his kindness, and the way he treats people. You can feel the influence of his grandmother and father shining through him.

Thank you Oxlade and your amazing team for everything
