A complete athlete needs many different qualities. There’s no magic exercise or magic system.

Strength
Speed
Quickness
Coordination
Mobility
Consistency

Every thoughtful coach should look at each athlete individually and assess what kind of athlete they are and what they need…..99% of them need to Lift fast, lift heavy, do plyometrics, sprint, be consistent, rest and recover. Do it all within a structured program.

Common weight room myths. All are untrue!

Lifting heavy is bad
Deadlifts are bad
Females will get bulky from lifting weights
Olympic lifts are dangerous.
Not being exhausted after a session means it was a bad session.

What an historic day for the girls of Beachwood High School Track! 🏆⚡

Four young ladies. 53 points. A state title that has NEVER been done before. That’s not just a win — that’s history. The heat, the pain, the pressure — they fought through ALL of it. Not just for themselves, but for their sisterhood, their families, and their city.

• 🥇 100m Gold Champion
• 🏅 5th in the 100m
• 🥇 4x200 Gold — broke the record AGAIN after setting it the day before
• 🥇 400m Champion
• 🥇🥈 200m 1st AND 2nd
• 🏅 8th in the 4x400m

Most state titles are built on groups and field events — but these ladies did it with SPEED, humility, and hard work. The way they carried themselves through it all said everything. So proud of each and every one of them. 🙏🏽

I always tell my daughter — leave your name on whatever you do. Yesterday, her and her girls did exactly that. They left their names on the record board, on Beachwood history, and on the state of Ohio forever. Watching that happen as a father and a former champion myself — that hit different. Can’t wait to see what’s next. 🔥
