🧠🏃‍♂️ When running became something calmer for Alex Casablancas, he built run clubs: spaces where people move together, talk, and take things a bit easier.

Less pressure, more balance. More focus on mental wellbeing and simple routines that feel good.

“In a group run, barriers drop fast,” Casablancas says. “It’s an easy way to connect, during the run itself or at a café beforehand or afterwards. Sometimes the coffee is the excuse to meet and the run comes first, and sometimes it is the other way around. Either way, the combination turns a training session into a shared experience.”

Tomorrow (29.11) we celebrate the launch of a special edition zine with @likethewindmag featuring ourselves, our hosts at @solo.magazine, as well as a few other run crews in town for the @maratonvalencia.

In the face of the recent tragedy in Valencia, this issue focuses on resilience as it pertains to running and community.

Be sure to join us from 18:00 for drinks, music and some snacks, with a social run leaving at 19:30, hosted by ourselves with @raquellandin_atleta and @alexcjorgensen from @itinerari.mvt

As we’ve met so many nice folks this week, we’ve decided to add a social run to our calendar, starting at the kiosk at 9:00, followed by the usual treats.

Sign up like in our bio.

From 25.11 until 01.12, we’ll have the pleasure of taking over the @newsandcoffee.eu kiosk in Valencia, home to some seriously tasty coffee and beautiful magazines, such as @solo.magazine.

It’ll be our biggest outing yet, playing host to two daily community events over the course of a week in collaboration with local Spanish running groups, as a way to highlight and celebrate the crossover of running and coffee culture around the @maratonvalencia.

We’ll have everything from social/shakeout runs to unsanctioned races, as well as a zine launch from @likethewindmag - so stay tuned to sign up as space will be limited. As always, we’ll do our best to make sure you’re fed, hydrated and caffeinated.

In light of the recent tragedy in the region, we’ll also be raising funds for various organizations working on disaster relief, which have been nominated by our local contacts. We’ll share links here if you’d like to support.

It’s our hope that the kiosk can serve as a hub, where people can come together to support one another and share a few nice moments during a difficult time.

A big thanks to the following crews for their presence:

@clubsusodelafuente
@raquellandin_atleta
@thekenyanurbanway
@runnerscdvlc
@madeforsocialrunclub
@itinerari.mvt
@joliefoulee

And our sponsors for the ongoing support:

@newbalancerunning
@minorfigures
@miir_uk

As well as @wenhuizheng for the incredible design work.
