Hey! We’ve got two FREE Freestyle Open Mic Cyphers happening EVERY month from 7 to 9pm! 🎤 🌹 🎶 Every Second Friday we have our ALL AGES Bars Cyphers happening at @503recordsllc in Beaverton with the collaboration of our friends of @503openmic. 503 Records’ owner Aaron has created a really creative atmosphere with a great PA system and plenty of Vinyl for one to peruse and be inspired by while freestyling off-the-top! Any youth artist interested in trying out, practicing, and challenging themselves freestyling will be greeted by a supportive and welcoming community of artists/freestylers of varying skill levels 💿❤️🎵 Every Third Thursday we have the 21+ Big Ol’ Bars Cyphers happening at @giganticbrewing! ENORMOUSLY enjoy some HUGE craft brews (made with a MASSIVE amount of love) while spitting some TITANIC bars off the top of the dome piece in an IMMENSELY creative and encouraging environment. Shout out to @itisjust.brian for providing sound and @giganticbenlove for the opportunity to bring BIG BARS ENERGY! 🍻 ❤️ 🎤 The Bars Cypher is an Off-The-Top Freestyle Open Mic where local Producers are curated to spin their beats live for anyone to hop up on stage, grab a microphone and improvise rapping/singing/spoken word to. The Bars Cypher places an emphasis on communal collaboration through stream of consciousness and improv. This is an environment that encourages focusing, listening and paying attention to other creatives while reflecting off of them with your own interpretations and human expression. We are not here to limit how you exhibit your truth in the moment, and sometimes the truth can be harsh, but there is Zero Tolerance for ANY Hate Speech or language meant to harm or oppress others. Shout out everyone who has helped keep freestyling alive in Portland. Special thanks to @wtfisatoken, @chrissongcomusic, @troytotheg, @itisjust.brian, and @dluxtl for your selfless support and contributions to Bars PDX and the community! 🫶 If you’ve read this far, my favorite flavor of cold desserts is lemon 🍋, my favorite season is Fall 🍂 , and my favorite animal is a penguin 🐧

sneak p🎾🎾k of tomorrow’s installation reveal. Deepest thanks to SO many people on the team who made this new format happen: @noltintin picked up the expired balls regularly at the @portland_tennis_center, @itisjust.brian made the discs that kept the balls from rolling, Faera Valore helped glue the discs to the balls. Then @borntobedizzy, @smsarahmarie, @nutritionalboy and @bigntoasty helped with the installation on the court! Quote is by @alluring, and song is “Bounce” by @calvinharris and @kelis. Hope you love it 🎾♥️
