Thrilled to have @lucyliu on board as we develop RESET into a feature.

Still riding that high from premiering @fantasiafestival where we won the Silver Audience Award for Best International Short Film, and receiving the Outpost Special Mention Award at the Frontières Market, where we participated in their Shorts to Features Lab.

More to come! Thank you all for your support ❤️

Based on the true & inspiring story of Shalin Shah, Paper Flowers is a touching tale of the fortitude of a young man who wouldn’t let anything stop him from truly living.

Representation can’t be confined to the stories they allow us to tell, but the ones we find necessary to share. Shalin’s legacy lives on through The Shalin Happiness Foundation and now @paperflowersmovie 🌅

Some movies entertain you…and some stay with you long after they’re over. ❤️ @paperflowersmovie was one of those for me. As someone who has lost a parent to cancer…there were parts of Shalin’s story that were incredibly hard to watch…but also strangely healing. More than anything, it reminded me that we spend so much of our lives worrying about things that, in the end, probably won’t matter nearly as much as we think they do. Our time is limited. Love people while they’re here. Say the things you want to say. And don’t wait for loss to remind you to live. Paper Flowers is in theaters August 21. Many of you (no one) have been asking why we made RESET.

The two of us met at Yale and became close friends despite coming from very different worlds. Between us, we’ve worked in healthcare, AI, VR, film, and tech, but we kept coming back to the same question: what happens when the roles that define a family begin to collapse?

Both of us grew up around mental illness, inherited trauma, and the quiet weight of caregiving. We wanted to explore those questions through the lens of a grounded sci-fi film~ using a speculative world to examine something deeply human. RESET became our way of asking whether the cycles we inherit are inevitable, or whether they can finally be broken.

Over the past year, we’ve shared little glimpses from set. Here are a few more: some behind-the-scenes moments, our DP Charles lovingly reminding us how to do our jobs, and finally, our incredible crew.

We can’t wait to properly introduce everyone.

More very soon 👀

20(ish)25….Wowza

a little story? why not?

TL;DR: Towards the end of my senior year in college, like most students I was overwhelmed with upcoming final exams, projects, and papers. Seeing how stressed I was, my mother asked me what was wrong, and out came an avalanche of all the things - Every. Little. Thing. - that was on my mind and what I believed urgently needed my attention. My mother, with no delicate touch, interrupts me, and in Cantonese asks:

Mom: 你使唔使除褲放屁?!

Translation: DO YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR PANTS OFF TO FART?!

Shocked, I laughed so hard, and said,

Me: I mean, no, of course not
Mom: Because it sounds like you’re doing a lot of unnecessary extra work. Don’t get distracted by the unnecessary. Focus on what you need to do. If you don’t, you’ll only fall behind and look silly with your pants down.

My mother’s advice has served me well over the years. This year, especially, required A LOT of focus. And I love these incredible humans and grateful for the wonderful opportunities that helped shape this year into something really special.

Happy New Year, Everyone! Welcome 2026!

(as per usual I’m writing this at the last minute, I might edit later :))
