This past weekend I had the incredible honor of being a selected 2026 PBA Beacon student. Going into this I knew it was a big deal, however, it wasn’t until I truly got there that I realized how monumental it truly is. On our first day there we were welcomed in by Rodrick Samuels, the 2023 educator of the year ( talk about an insane kickoff) later joined by one of my idols @genostampora and a bag filled with product for each of us. The day continued by having seven speakers all of elite/celebrity status in the beauty industry come and speak with us on different topics in regards to continued growth, education, and career success. I would like to thank @teachingbarbersismyjam @probeautyassoc @michaeldevellis @soyoureahairstylist @jcpenney panelists @ashleenormanhair @thegoodhairdays @heyelizabethfaye @jakeshairpage @fadedinc @tania_crawford for taking the time to come and educate myself fellow peers and I and helping to kick start our careers. Stay tuned for day two. #premier #beautyindustry #naha #beacon2026

Welcome back on day two Geno Stampora started our day with a personality and communication quiz reminding us the “greatest enemy of learning is knowing”
Saturday was filled with nothing short of inspirational speakers, those of which included @winnclaybaugh @j.me.conner @ninatulio (The 2026 educator of the year-I know I’m still in shock I met her too 😭) @roberthamstylist @vasified all of which I had the pleasure and gratitude to be able to speak with one on one after the day concluded (we may have left and hour and a half after ending classes🫣). We also were able to take part in what I call mentor speed dating where the elites in the industry would take ten minutes and allow us to bombard them with question after question before rotating to the next table- they truly must be the most patient people I have ever met! Again I cannot thank @probeautyassoc enough for the continued support commitment and education put into our class.

The more I do my own hair the more I appreciate when someone else does it 🥰🥰

I love it here 💞😝✨
@hairbykaikai1

I asked my instructor to layer my hair and she did just that!! 😍

After I curled it the bounce stayed for like 3-4 days!

To my amazing clients,

I have some bittersweet news to share: I’ll be heading back home to Detroit, Michigan to pursue the next chapter of my journey.

This move is a dream come true and a huge step in growing my craft. While I’m beyond excited for the growth and opportunities ahead, leaving behind the incredible relationships I’ve built with all of you is the toughest part.

THANK YOU for trusting me with your hair, your stories, your laughs, and your time. You’ve helped shape not just my skills, but who I am as a stylist and as a person. I’ll carry that with me every step of the way.

I hope to service you in the future with more knowledge, inspiration, and even more passion for what I love to do.

With love,
KK 🩷

DETROIT 🤍 I’ll be opening my books for October appointments soon.
