POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We are so grateful to everyone who showed up in-person and online for Kites & Community for Palestine. The day began grey and wet, and through our time together the skies cleared and we flew kites 🪁 We gathered and made them beautiful despite the loud voices online who tried to deter us.

Did you know children make up nearly half of Gaza’s population—an area where 85% of buildings have been destroyed by indiscriminate bombing, that children are being intentionally murdered by israeli snipers, that israel blocks the delivery of formula, that Gaza has the highest rate of child amputees anywhere in the world—& done without anesthesia? These facts & more with their sources in our bio… We are here to support a free Palestine and a more liberated world. We gather from a place of love and as long as the bombs, apartheid, and occupation continue so will we—until Palestine is free. We will teach our next generation compassion so they can carry on the work and color the world in a steadfastness for justice. Our devotion to collective kinship will not be silenced by anyone’s fear, hatred, or misinformation. Sooke is a small town AND we are part of a global community.

We so appreciate @rania.writes and her generosity in sharing her wisdom in how to raise our tiny humans with a love for all life. Registration for her free workshop at the 🔗 in our bio—please check out the work she does for us all ✨ Let’s help give the children of Sooke, and of the world, tools to navigate all that’s unfolding~

Some days, the weight of what’s happening feels unbearable.

The images. The stories. The families being torn apart.

This week, two fathers, Joan Sebastián Durán Guerrero and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, were killed by ICE, leaving behind families who loved them and communities mourning their loss.

As moms, we don’t always have the luxury of falling apart. We still have lunches to pack, kids to comfort, and a million things that need us. So we bury what we’re carrying and keep going.

That’s why we’re gathering after bedtime.

Join us for **Moms Melt ICE**. After the kids are asleep and the house is finally quiet, come melt down with us. We don’t have to carry this alone.

ICE melts under warmth. ICE melts under resistance.

Most people find out these professionals exist after they needed one weeks or months (dare I say years) ago. That was certainly the case for me. I knew about doulas vaguely, but that’s about it.

This list is a map, so you know who to call and why, whenever something starts to feel harder than it should.

I specialize in the mental health piece of this list, so reach out for your free consult any time. Virtual in all PSYPACT states, no diagnosis needed.

Save this for the moment you need it.

I’m sorry if I should have tagged you and I missed you!

I haven't been able to find all of the words, but here are a few things I know:

The children are always ours. Every. Single. One.

Baby Kohen should be alive right now. 💔✨🕊️

Something is shifting in mothers and I think it’s time we talk about it.

So much of the conversation around motherhood centers on children’s outcomes. And that research matters.

But somewhere in all of it, the woman herself gets lost.

I wrote this after my own experience of feeling surrounded by expert advice on how to raise my daughter with very little space given to how I was doing.

So I’m asking: what parts of your experience as a mother have gone unseen? What do you wish the world understood?

Drop it in the comments. Every response matters. 🤍

We keep hearing there’s “no money” for childcare.

But families are paying for it every single day.
In missed work.
In stalled careers.
In burnout that nobody is counting.

Childcare isn’t a side issue.
It’s the system holding everything else up.

And when it’s treated like optional…
we all feel the collapse.

This isn’t about politics.
It’s about whether we actually understand what keeps an economy running.

Because we don’t have a workforce problem.
We have a care problem.
