tomorrow I do the most on-brand thing possible: play a teacher in a musical about school, performed for a conference full of teachers. Ms. Elsie Besant, reporting for duty! 👩🏻‍🏫 Schooled! a brand-new musical by Peter Nilsson, directed by Rebecca Aparicio, gets its first full two-act staged reading tomorrow (Sun Oct 18) at 6:30 PM in the Rosemary Heyl Theatre at Carlow University, as part of PAIS’ Elevate Learning Teacher Conference. 📝 So what IS a staged reading? Actors at music stands, scripts in hand, minimal staging… no full costumes, no sets. The focus is the words and the music. It’s how a brand-new musical gets its first real audience: we read, we sing, you react, and the show grows from there. You’re watching a musical be born in real time, typos and all. Gotta love live theater! 🎭 Come check this out, one night only. See you there! #pittsburgh #pais #elevatelearning #schooled #newmusicalert

BE NOT AFRAID!! I COME BEARING THE LIST OF CASTING!! SWIPE TO LAY THINE EYES UPON ITS GLORIOUS MAJESTY!!! 🌟🪽🌳🍎🐍 The Light-Bringer team would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who showed interest or auditioned for this project! Many hard decisions were made, and we thank you for your utmost patience during these times. We hope to see you in the audience!!! -Lee PLAY DECRIPTION: " “Light-Bringer” is a re-telling of Lucifer’s fall from Heaven, among other things. It’s also a story of love. And loss. And pain. And judgement. And divine justice. The Creation of the Universe was all going according to The Plan until one “misguided” angel met one strong-willed woman in the Garden of Eden. Soon after, that woman realized she wasn’t very fond of her husband. And, soon after that, Heaven decided it wasn’t very fond of her. The Archangels worked tirelessly to repair the damage in their own way. But Lucifer took matters into his own hands. In the Garden. With the fruit. Soon after that, Heaven decided it wasn’t very fond of him, either. "

This is one of the hardest goodbyes I will have to make as a senior. This program is truly my favorite part of Point Park, and it had influenced me in so many wonderful ways. I am so glad that I got to spend two years as a Pioneer Ambassador and meet so many amazing people. To my red team, we may not have actually won, but we won in my heart. I love you guys so much. I am so glad this was the team I got to spend my final orientation with. And to my Morgan, I love you so much! You are part of the reason I love this program so much! You are such an incredible leader and friend! To everyone else, I literally love you guys so much! I could go on and on about how much I love each and every one of you and never get tired of it! You guys are all so incredible and amazing leaders. This chapter may be ending for me, but I know so many of you will do amazing things in this program next year! Thank you all for an amazing Pioneer Expierence! (Also I wish I could add more photos and tags.)
