I won an Epica!!! Wow…what an incredible honor and amazing way to wrap up 2025—I’m excited to share that I won Bronze at the @epicaawards for Commercial Directing! This film for Singer Sewing Machines, made through @elevenproductions was about celebrating a brand that’s been quietly present in so many lives, homes, and histories. To have that work recognized — especially alongside directors and projects I truly admire, and among a shortlist filled with such incredible work — is deeply humbling. Huge thanks to an amazing client and longtime friend @vollmerzoo1 who believed in me, trusted me to bring this beautiful story to life, and gave me the freedom and support to truly collaborate. And none of this happens without an incredible crew — my team at 11Pro and the amazing artists and collaborators who brought so much care, craft, and heart to this shoot. What an incredible way to close out an amazing year. 🥉✨ Director: @stephendevriesdirector 1st AD: @maxrsoto Producer: Katie DeLoach DP: @djditt 1st AC: @jgalloway_blp 2nd AC: @chapeldarleyfilms Still Photographer: @kcarpenterphoto DIT / BTS Video: Blake Benton PA: @dillon.strong G&E by: @alagripco Gaffer: @sethtopher Key Grip: @thomas_trollope G&E Swing: @nate.strick Prop Stylist: @theglimmertrain Set Dec: @katieb1984 Set Dec: @malliebtaylor Art Assistant: @its_syndnee Wardrobe: @marilynthomasonlocke HMU: @kerribunn Casting by: @golemancasting Talent: @jean_gurzo, Benji Kennedy, @talenttrek, Beck Unnoppet, Charlie Kate Rodda, @ect_agency, Jaynelle Veloso, @langellistm, @hurdagency, Cameron Bowman, @kirsten.lee.anderson, Kris Phillips Editor: Blake Benton Colorist: @asafoxcolorist Sound Mix: @boutwellstudios VFX: @maximos.e.t Rentals: @southcinerentals Lenses: @pchood_cinematics CD: @vollmerzoo1 Music by: Barry Louis Polisar #SVP #svpworldwide #elevenproductions #eleven #ad #advertising #commercial #videoadvertising #videoad #commercialad #commercialdirecting #directing #director #productioncompany #Singer #viking #pfaff #sewing #sewingmachines #ItStartedWithSinger #SingerSewing #SVPWorldwide #epica #epicaward #commercialdirecting #directingaward #awardwinning #awardwinningwork

Hi Instagram world, I’m Stephen — husband to Annie, dad to Lily and Laurent, and owner of @ElevenProductions here in Birmingham, Alabama. I love cycling 🚴🏻‍♂️, soccer ⚽️ (Go Blues!) and chocolate chip cookies 🍪. I’ve had accounts for my photography and production company for a while, but I wanted to create a more focused home for my directing work. I’ve directed everything from sports docu-series to stop-motion to commercials and short films — but what drives me most is collaboration, storytelling, and the amazing film community I get to be part of. This piece is one of my favorite projects from the year — an extended director’s cut, created with an incredible Birmingham-based crew and my longtime friend and collaborator @vollmerzoo1 (we started together a decade ago shooting JoAnn Fabric commercials). Excited to share more stories here — hope you enjoy! SVP Worldwide is a brand woven into generations of creativity, family, and love. Almost everyone has a Singer story: a mom or grandmother sewing at the kitchen table, a dad patching a favorite jacket, or a family member making something special just for you. Our goal was to capture how sewing isn’t just a skill — it’s a thread that runs through our lives, connecting us to the people and moments that matter most. From first stitches to heirloom quilts, Singer has been there for it all. We poured our hearts into telling this story, and we hope it reminds you of your own connections, your own creations… and the moments that will be passed down for generations. 🪡🩵 Director: @stephendevriesphoto 1st AD: @maxrsoto Producer: Katie DeLoach DP: @djditt 1st AC: @jgalloway_blp 2nd AC: @chapeldarleyfilms Still Photographer: @kcarpenterphoto DIT / BTS Video: Blake Benton PA: @dillon.strong G&E by: @alagripco Gaffer: @sethtopher Key Grip: @thomas_trollope G&E Swing: @nate.strick Prop Stylist: @theglimmertrain Set Dec: @katieb1984 Set Dec: @malliebtaylor Art Assistant: @its_syndnee Wardrobe: @marilynthomasonlocke HMU: @kerribunn Casting by: @golemancasting Talent: @jean_gurzo, Benji Kennedy, @talenttrek, Beck Unnoppet, Charlie Kate Rodda, @ect_agency, Jaynelle Veloso, @langellistm, @hurdagency, Cameron Bowman, @kirsten.lee.anderson, Kris Phillips Editor: Blake Benton Colorist: @asafoxcolorist Sound Mix: @boutwellstudios VFX: @maximos.e.t Rentals: @southcinerentals Lenses: @pchood_cinematics CD: @vollmerzoo1 Music by: Barry Louis Polisar #SVP #svpworldwide #elevenproductions #eleven #ad #advertising #commercial #videoadvertising #videoad #commercialad #commercialdirecting #directing #director #productioncompany #Singer #viking #pfaff #sewing #sewingmachines #ItStartedWithSinger #SingerSewing #SVPWorl

A few weeks ago we got some of our production friends together and spent a couple of days filming a short and had an absolute blast! We brought in Winston, our MoCo rig, and did some new multi-pass composite work utilizing a dynamic input method to give it a human operated feeling, and it was insane! Can’t wait to share the results…huge thanks to our amazing crew for believing in the project and pouring themselves into it - couldn’t have done it without you guys! If you follow my production company (@elevenproductions ) then you may have already seen this - but I’m so pumped with it that I had to share it here too! This was a fun spec project that my team and I pulled together earlier this year with our Bolt Jr + cinebot to test out how far we could push a practical effect with the tools and tech we have and it turned out awesome! This is fully practical - no Special effects or CGI! Check it out and in the meantime I’m going out for a smoothie 🤤 Director / DP / Bolt op - Stephendevriesphoto 1st AD / DiT / Bolt Assist - @maxrsoto Producers - @meredithgarant & Katie DeLoach Food - @lorenwood.foodstyling Props/Set - @lindseylowerstyling G&E - @alagripco PAs - @angelyub @its_syndnee Bolt assist - @isofakingsaid Post - @katieb1984 & Blake Benton Bolt Jr by @mrmoco1 #food #foodvideo #foodproduction #foodvideography #moco #bolt #boltjr #cinebot #sweets #slowmo #smoothie #smoothievideo #mocovideo #practicaleffects #postproduction #red #redcinema #elevenproductions @atedge @theworkbookphoto @lebookconnect @le_book @reddigitalcinema
