Backyard Ultra - Tartarus - 4.2 mile loop on the hour, every hour, until one person is left standing. That’s good stuff, man

Truly grateful to have been part of an event like the Tartarus Backyard Ultra. Sharing that experience with my friends, family, and crew is something I’ll never forget, and I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who supported and encouraged me along the way.

That said, I’m not satisfied with my performance. I came into this race with high expectations, talked a big game, and ultimately feel like I let both myself and others down. But that’s part of the process. Every race exposes weaknesses and gives you the opportunity to learn.

All I can do now is listen, take the advice that’s been given, put in the work, and come back stronger. Thank you again to everyone who reached out with kind words and encouragement. This is just another chapter, and I’m looking forward to getting back out there and seeing what I’m truly capable of.

I got what I came for. Plus some.
56 miles. 13 laps.

My favorite part of every yard was rounding the corner of the lake and knowing I was getting close to the tent. Knowing I was just a few minutes away from seeing my people again made me push a little harder; just to get a few more seconds with them before heading back out for another one.

I truly couldn’t have done this without my crew. So grateful for every mile, every cheer, every laugh, and every time you made me believe I had one more in me. ⚡️

ENERGY RUN CLUB REPRESENTING AT OUTLAST SPOKANE⚡️

If you want to know whether you have great friends, look at what you choose to do together.

For us, that apparently means six-hour trail races.

Run club has given us more than miles; it’s given us a community that embraces hard things, supports each other relentlessly, and somehow manages to make suffering fun.

Why do hard things alone when you can do them together? ⚡️🏃‍♂️🌲

Energy Run Club showed up and showed out, with everyone involved absolutely crushing their goals. Personally, finishing in the top 10 is something I never saw coming, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to get out there and suffer with.

Huge thank you to Texas Outlaw Running for putting on an amazing event. Looking forward to the next one! 💪🏃
