okay so a few weeks ago I had a completely random idea. and instead of letting it live in my notes app forever like a normal person — I actually made it. 🎬✨

that’s the thing about creativity — sometimes the most random ideas turn into the most fun projects. and I am SO happy I have friends and a boyfriend who are willing to jump into my creative delusions with me at a moment’s notice. 😂🖤

I’ve been editing this for weeks and I’m genuinely so excited to finally share it with you. I hope you love it as much as we loved making it.

this is what happens when you stop waiting for the perfect moment and just make the thing. 🎥

1-6: started a cult with the homies
7-8: the signs were there
9-10: portrait from a fowl-mouthed cockatoo
11-12: beautiful art from a beautiful interspecies duo
13: period-appropriate eyebrows for @2001promodyssey (aka here’s to the night we felt alive)

this bowl festival was such a gift. we didn’t have a lot of time to make all these new shows, but we really used our noodles. writers put penne to paper, clowns got fusilli, and we explored the pastabilities. things were sometimes strained, and emotions occasionally boiled over, but we all stuck to our mission to create bowled new pizzas of theatre and comedy (orzo it seemed to me). though my flower crown did put a(l) dent(e) in my scalp

first 5 ppl to comment with the correct number of puns in this post, I will kiss you full on the mouth

taking a moment for The Garment. she was a true labor of love and delusion (and hot glue ofc. so, so much hot glue)

thank you to @meertastic for trusting the vision, and more importantly for having the grander vision for this whole wild show

thank you to designer Andrea Flesch for the inspo

thank you to every drag queen who has ever performed in all of history. I’m lucky to be able to do this without risking my own safety or sense of identity

and thank you to @typruy for letting me turn his pull-up bar into a garment rack and the apartment into a flower bomb

Final sales pitch: a bunch of your friends worked on a show for 18 months that could fail if they don’t go all out.

I’m scared of this show - I love the people in it and I love @meertastic who directed 10 adults who can’t focus for 19 months.

There’s a dance you can learn. There’s paradise to be had.
I learned the worm for this and it only took me 20 months.

If no one comes I think we owe money.

A GARDEN EXPERIMENT!! This Thursday at 9:30 at @elysiantheater as part of Spaghetti Fest. My favorite kind of weirdos to direct are the ones that come to every rehearsal with 25 new ideas. This show is totally wild, presumptively ambitious, and full of heart. Come see what we’ve made for you. Use code APPLE for a limited number of $15 tickets. Link in bio!
