POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A Yowie hunt. Drought-stricken farmers. Superpowered dogs as harbingers of the apocalypse. Rats taking smokos. A depressed writer rubbing shoulders with other depressed writers. A USB getting heavier. And... WATERMELONS.

All this and more encapsulated my time at this year's @backbone_brisbane festival - as with last year, it was an incredible lineup of amazing shows by amazing emerging artists, and I can't wait to see if any of these will evolve into something bigger that'll take the local theatre scene by storm! Congrats to everyone who had even a small hand in bringing these shows to life (and my deepest apologies for not being able to tag everyone)!

Methany aka Meth (she/they) is Barf’s cousin and temporary roommate. They love listening to music really loudly on their broken iPod shuffle, eating copious amounts of cheese, and drugs. Meth is determined to throw the BEST party this side of the undercity has ever seen. Will she pull it off before the end times come??

Unit 4 is officially done!
I am so proud of the entire team, from the first time we thought of this idea to now we have all developed so so much. I cannot be more honoured and proud of the team I got to work with, they are the most creative, talented and funny people ever. I’m so excited to see the rest of this festival, #lovethearts

A little message from me, Leah, to this wonderful group of people. Who would have thought such a random bunch of people could come together to create such an eerie, creepy but amazing piece of art. We have had so many hurdles thrown our way, see this couch, yeah we had to fight tooth and nail to have it in our show, but just like everything we fought to have it because we cared. We cared about this story and bringing it to life, even if that meant it would “look like a uni production” if we had a couch. I’m so grateful for all the love and support this team led with, and how hard each of you worked. Here’s to closing the door of this mouldy, infected and creepy ass show, but it did grow on me along the way. Much love, Leah <3 #savethecouch
