How else to post on my birthday other than to post the joy and sadness of seeing one of my favorite bands perform for the last time? (Don't worry, they'll be back after they get some smokes... right?)

I've been seeing Cliffdiver for 4 years now, and have seen them enough times that they know my name and my face and have gotten me surprises when I've gone to shows. Tyler called me one of their biggest fans and I'm honored to have him think that. Joey's openness and honesty about sobriety had a hand in my own journey in healing. I'm Bri's "Lil bitch" bitch at every opportunity, and I've got the bracelets from her to prove it.

Their music broke through to me in a way I never expected, especially since they were "just" an opener to a festival I went to back in 2022. I've cried countless times to Lost in IKEA. Water Temple calls me out every time I hear it. Al Pacino hits in the right (or wrong) moments, depending on how you look at it. And who knew that Golfer would be the song that had me full SOBBING in Tulsa, Oklahoma? Turns out having Joey and Bri singing "don't say goodbye, don't say it," at their last show is absolutely fucking heartbreaking.

Cliffy has introduced me to so many cool bands. One of which being my kiddos in Leisure Hour. It was a perfect full circle, this night in Tulsa. The first time I ever saw Leisure Hour was at the Basement in Nashville, when they were opening for Cliffdiver. And I got to see them open again on this last show, with a way bigger fan base than they had before. I'm so proud of how far they've come.

I've gotten to be a part of the coolest little Discord community ever because of this band. That community is what made me take the quickest whirlwind trip back to the states just to see this one last show. Just so I could meet these people in the flesh. Because turns out talking to strangers on the internet isn't so bad. And it turns out those strangers give some of the best teary eyed hugs I could have ever had at the end of that show.

I feel like I'm rambling so I'll end this here.

Thanks Cliffy, for everything.

Saying goodbye to the buds in Cliffdiver at the Vanguard was emotional in all the best and hardest ways.

It was so good to see so many friends in one weekend, share some tasty brews, and celebrate a band that has meant so much to so many over the last 8 years. The room was full of love, gratitude, and the kind of energy you only get when everyone knows they’re witnessing the end of something special.

Thank you, Cliffdiver, for the music, the memories, and for being part of a community that brought so many incredible people together. And thank you for being the soundtrack that helped pull me through some tough times. It’s been an amazing ride, and I’m grateful I got to be there to watch it.

Here’s to you all, the future and to carrying these songs and memories with us.

Also a shoutout to both @leisure.hour and @morrisvillagetul for being absolutely killer and a hell if a way to kick off the show! Can’t wait to catch you both again.
