A little over a year ago, I ended up going on one of the most spontaneous adventures of my life. With only about two months of preparation, I packed up and travelled to Japan for a month with some of my closest friends.

What made the trip unforgettable wasn't just the places we visited, but the people we met along the way. We made friends from all over the world, shared moments with strangers who quickly became familiar, and experienced what it feels like to be welcomed in places where people like us aren't always commonly seen.

There were definitely moments where people were curious about us, but it never felt uncomfortable. It felt genuine. We were met with respect, warmth, and openness, and that made the experience more special.

More than anything, Japan reminded me how important it is to live in the moment, appreciate the people around you, and not take life for granted.
