Humbled.

Thank you @peacegina & @sankofadotorg for the invitation. Sharing space with artists & activists who have informed my voice & my vision makes me remember my 12 year old self. I was so dissatisfied with society, contemplating things like environmental racism before I even had the language. Dolores Huerta’s “Sí, se puede” was my mantra. I would research lyricists like @mrchuckd & @alishaheed who spoke truth to power, and made it sound fly. Danny Glover, like Harry Belafonte, showed me being an artist means using your platform for social change. & years later, I would witness @obeygiant quite literally deliver HOPE to a nation.

I understand my role as an artist in this climate. & it’s to create: new images, new stories, new pathways. I’ll always answer that call.

God really SLIDE about me 😭
.
As I’ve locked myself in the studio today working on commissioned orders, I can’t help but smile. I never would’ve thought I’d be sharing my creativity with so many beautiful people with THIS art medium. What started as a therapeutic pastime has now starting to grow into what seems to be my next chapter. I’m so happy to turn the page — to settle into the woman I’ve been called to be. I have so many Zelle notifications hitting my line— shordy might just be able to pay off her AMEX. PRAISE GOD 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

More from creator:
“I’m Dolce Imani, the hands and heart behind Fresh Off The Hook Designs. Crochet isn’t just a craft to me—it’s a language, a vibration, a way to bring my imagination to life with every loop and stitch. My work blends nostalgia with innovation, intertwining traditional fiber art with modern storytelling, texture, and even sound. I believe in creating pieces that carry energy, that feel like more than just clothing—they feel like movement, like emotion, like frequency. My art is wearable, tangible expression, and through it, I want people to feel connected, inspired, and seen.

Fresh Off The Hook isn’t just about what I create—it’s about what it evokes. Every stitch is intentional, every piece has a story, and every design is a reflection of my journey toward creative freedom. This is more than crochet. This is frequency, this is artistry, this is me.”

Dolce is the most talented person I’ve ever come across. Her consistency, her drive, and her spirit is why I’m glad to have met her! You’re such a great person and you give the best advice whether it’s crochet related or not! I strive to be a crocheter like you and everyone else should too!🥰✨
