“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17

Jamaica is so cool, but let me tell you about my God.

His love, His joy, and His goodness were so evident this week. Through the kids we met, through the team I served with, through His creation and the weather, through our flight home, literally through everything, He was there. We served at @cccdjamaica, and my heart grew with so much respect and appreciation for the deaf community.

I could talk forever about this trip, if you want to know more just ask me.

“And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

God is so good!🤍
……………………………

I am so thankful for all of the amazing people I met and everyone I interacted with this week. I thank God for being so present throughout the entire trip and for being the light that guided me each day and through every conversation I had. Being surrounded by other believers was one of the most meaningful parts of this experience for me. There is something so special about being around people who share the same faith and love for God. It reminded me how important it is to have a community that encourages you, prays with you, and helps you grow closer to Him. I felt so supported, uplifted, and inspired by the people around me. Watching everyone serve with love, kindness, and joy strengthened my faith and reminded me how powerful it is when believers come together.
Over the past week, CCCD welcomed us with open arms and invited us into their home. I was able to see the amazing things that God is doing there. At the beginning of the week, I was a little nervous because the main form of communication was sign language. Not knowing how to communicate at first felt challenging. However, it quickly became one of the most meaningful parts of the experience. Everyone was patient, kind, and excited to learn. Many people kept asking questions so they could better communicate with the students and staff.
As the week went on, I started to see small connections forming between me and the students and staff. It showed me that even when communication is different, you can still show love, kindness, and make a difference. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest parts of the week. Looking back to the beginning of the trip shows how God can work not only in the lives of the people you serve, but also in your own heart. This week reminded me that God’s plans are bigger than we can imagine, and I feel so blessed to have been part of it.
