We need your help

Fighting this review means paying for solicitors, planning consaltunts, preparing evidence and representing ourselves at a licensing hearing, and the costs are quickly getting out of our control. If the review goes against us, we could face tight restrictions on our hours and events, or lose our licence altogether. Because the Store has always been free to enter, we have no ticket income to fall back on. That’s why we need your help to make sure the Store can keep doing what it does best.

How could you help?
The BBE Store has always been free to enter, apart from the odd New Year’s Eve, and it always will be. Our ethos is simple: anyone can come in and enjoy the space. Some of the world’s biggest DJs have played here, and every time it’s been open to the public for free.

Now we’re asking if you could dig into your pockets and donate whatever you can. No amount is too small (or too big!).

Share this page with friends, crews and anyone who’s ever bought a record or danced at the Store

Greg Boraman was on Gilles Petersons' radio show talking about the documentary 'Brian Auger - I Speak Music' he and Alfred George Bailey are seeking funding for - and they play several of my tracks and discuss my musical history - thanks guys!

Some shows are worth a second listen. This is one of them!

@eavesdrop_radio #755 brought us a special guest, our good brother @omar_lyefook, who had plenty to share as he wrapped up his experience at the @playlistretreat. Great conversation, fresh perspectives, and the kind of gems that remind you why we love bringing people together through music and culture.

And we couldn’t let the moment pass without celebrating 50 YEARS of Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life! An album that continues to inspire, influence, and remind us of the timeless power of music.

Plus a ton of new music from different generes. Whether you caught it live or missed it the first time, this episode is definitely worth running back!

Back in the ’90s I had the pleasure of working with Terry Callier on several occasions. I’m very happy that one of my favourite portraits of Terry, previously unpublished, has finally found its way onto the cover of this beautiful live recording, Live Peace.

It’s a real privilege to have spent time with Terry and to have photographed such a wonderful man and extraordinary artist. Huge thanks to Greg Boraman @itsgregboraman for bringing this one out into the world.

Terry Callier – Live Peace is out now on vinyl and available to stream.
