Still reflecting on yesterday’s Blackout & Found Poetry Workshop @chacheeschaicafe 🖋️

In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we came together at @chacheeschaicafe to create, reflect, and have conversations about the stories we’re told, the ones that get left out, and the ways language and media shape how we understand the world around us

Through blackout and found poetry, we explored themes of colonialism, displacement, resistance, identity, and solidarity — from Turtle Island to Palestine and beyond.

One of the best parts of the afternoon was simply meeting new people and hearing each other’s perspectives and shared experiences. There was something really meaningful about realizing that so many of the thoughts, frustrations, and experiences we carry aren’t ours alone 🫂

Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared openly, created something, or simply listened ✨
