I am inspired by #badass women - in all their uniqueness. Soooo this is a great FIRST feature to highlight the women who inspire me and are paving their own way. In front of the camera or behind the scenes each makes a special contribution to my life and our world. I say YOU.GO! I can’t provide a caption any better than the one from her mom, Dana @theunknotted

“Love this ad and not just because it’s my daughter! #proudmom #amazonprime #strongwomen #empoweringwomen “

With that I will say Cheers to @itsjolawrence - for pursuing your passion and being a fixture in my life since you and Corey became besties at the Tumbleweeds gym before you even started Kindergarten. What a pleasure to watch you both FLY. (and Isa too, always right in the middle of things). 💛💛💛

Had to throw in some #kindergarten throwbacks since it’s the first week back to school for most! 📚☀️

I don’t think I’ve ever painted a watercolor portrait before so I decided to try it. Here’s my pretty friend @itsjolawrence / Check out my progress videos in my story or highlights on my main page @pie_purr / Let me know if you’re interested in a watercolor portrait (-:

please visit the link in my bio & sign the petition to get real Black history into American schools. my friend Jo (the incredibly talented artist who painted the first picture) was searching a few days ago and found no other petitions targeting this massive issue with the education system in America. The targeted decision-makers in this specific campaign are listed on the third picture, and include the LAUSD superintendent, the organizations behind common core education, Betsy DeVos, and the Board of Education. —— From Jo: “In America, children often grow up not knowing the true history of the African American people. Most of the time when learning about our history, we get watered down versions that barely scratch the surface of the real struggles in our past. Because of this, ignorance and bigotry persists; people do not know why people are the way they are and live the lives they live. Many believe the curriculum taught in schools should include the history of systemic racism in America and how it affects the lives of black and brown people in America today.
Signing this petition would be one step in reforming a broken education system. Education creates awareness and understanding. We hope that exposure to information that may not have otherwise been available to children will help reduce and ultimately mitigate the divide in this country. The divide perpetuates misconceptions of black and brown people, which in turn perpetuates racial intolerance. My goal in starting this petition is to educate the youths of America!” #blacklivesmatter #blackhistory #lausd #betsydevos #defundthepolice #fundschoolsnotprisons #fundschoolsnotcops #educationispower #educationalreform
