15! 🎉 I’m so proud to be marking this milestone at CTV News this month! 15 years of stories and a few different roles but the same passion and love of the job as when I started. What a privilege it is to do what I love with the best team! ❤️🎥

A huge thanks to the @cflredblacks for an incredibly special night. What an amazing comeback win!

To say that this was a near perfect moment for me would be an understatement.

Here’s the long(!) version of why:

November 1981. Friends at the door.
“Want to play?
Play? I’m watching football?
Football?
Yes the Rough Riders are in the Grey Cup!Why are you guys outside??
That’s weird that you’re watching football!
It is??”

And so started a lifelong problem of people wanting to schedule stuff on Ottawa football days!;) And the up and down emotional craziness of being an Ottawa football fan.

Loved the game. Playing touch and flag (badly) at Glebe, McGill and back here in Ottawa, and watching every chance I got

My first sports job was as CFRA sideline reporter as the Rough Riders franchise made a last gasp.

It was a thrill to cover Renegades (and Als) for the Score

But then Redblacks. Season tickets. A first franchise win. (Last slide)

And the Grey Cup victory in 2016. Graham and I had a chance to emcee the broadcast of the parade. Wondering who would show. Feeling the square behind us fill up. The temperature actually rising on that cold day. As Ottawa came into its own as a football city once again.

So many memories.

Thanks to Henry Burris, JC Watts, the McDowell family, CTV Ottawa/CFRA, and Janice for so many of them!

This beautiful wood cookie will forever remind me of them all. ❤️
