Gray, a disillusioned aristocrat trapped by an overbearing guardian, and Lincoln, the leader of a group of streetwise scavengers struggling for survival, form an unlikely bond that the powers that be would do anything to break. In this twisted sci-fi retelling of Romeo & Juliet, civil blood will make civil hands unclean as Gray and Lincoln battle the violent systems keeping them apart and attempt to escape the same fate as Shakespeare’s tragic lovers. Buckle up, we’re about to show why the scariest thing this spooky season is capitalism. An Equity Approved Showcase

In addition to supporting my fifth Meganne George Women’s Work Short Play Festival, I had the honor of serving as Movement Director for Haile Eshe Cole’s Lemon Stew, directed by Janani Sreenivasan. 🍋 This was my first time stepping into the role of Movement Director for the festival, which made an already special five-year milestone with New Perspectives Theatre Company even more meaningful. I loved being in the rehearsal room with this piece every single time, exploring how movement could support the storytelling of this choreopoem and help bring Haile’s magical world to life. Thank you to Haile for trusting me with your beautiful work, and to Janani for inviting me into your vision and giving me the space to explore, play, and create alongside you. Thank you to our incredible cast for being so open, generous, and wonderful to work with. And a special thank you to the NPTC interns who worked so hard throughout the festival—including capturing these photos—as well as our stage managers, directors, writers, production team, and everyone who helped bring this year’s festival to life. It is always a joy to be part of the Meganne George Women’s Work Short Play Festival and to support the development and production of new work by women who write plays. Five festivals later, I’m so grateful to keep growing alongside this program—and especially grateful that this year gave me the opportunity to grow as a choreographer. Here’s to celebrating women’s work, artistic challenges, and many more rehearsal rooms to come. 🤍 #womenswork #movementdirector #womenintheatre #playfestival #offoffbroadway
