Obsidian Presents: CROWNED IN COLOR

“I’ve been stripped of a lot just as much as I been given” - Frank Ocean

While most carry shame in our country’s history, we continue to remember, using it to propel us forward. We carry the legacies of those who came before us through strong individuals that lead us through each passing generation.

As the plight continues, so do we, becoming juggernauts in a society that would rather see our demise. No matter what, we persist and shine through it all, trying to pave a future where oppressive systems are dismantled. To be black in America is to reckon with the transgressions inflicted, and navigating through the pain that comes with it. As we move forward, watch us thrive and flourish. See us stand tall, decorated in honor, crowned in color.
