Today, we thought we’d embrace the Texas way, and adopt a tarantula as a pet for about 4 minutes 🫪

A screen can entertain you. AI can answer you. Neither can obey God for you.

David was idle when temptation found an opening. And today, it is easy to fill every quiet moment with scrolling, shortcuts, and distractions while ignoring what God has called us to do.

Boredom is not the real danger. What you reach for when you’re bored is.

Put the phone down. Open the Word. Pray. Get up and walk in your calling.

One year ago today, we moved to Texas believing God had opened a door for our family.

I thought He brought us here for a house on a street called Jacob’s Well.

We never got that house.

Over the next year, so much of the plan changed that I started wondering if we had misunderstood God completely.

This morning, I opened John 4 and read, “Jacob’s well was there.”

And I remembered: my husband now leads a student ministry called The Well, rooted in that very chapter.

Maybe God did bring us here for Jacob’s Well.

Just not the one I expected.

A changed plan does not always mean you missed God. 🤍
