The Floyd Newsum Summer Studios artists have officially started their residency at @projectrowhouses

This year’s cohort brings together the voices of ten diverse artists whose work speaks directly to the urgency, complexity, and fragility of our times. Spanning visual art, time-based media, architecture, and performance, this dynamic exhibition explores how contemporary creators are processing the cultural and sociological nuances of identity and imagination.

Mark your calendars for the opening and community market on August 2 from 4pm-7pm at Project Row Houses at 2521 Holman Street, Houston, Texas 77004.

Our Juneteenth 2025 tees, designed with @ninachanel out in the wild. It’s been two days since Juneteenth Emancipation Day and we’re so smitten with how good y’all look, how many loving notes we received and the overwhelming support of our work, 365 - ESPECIALLY IN TEXAS. Shouts to the all the Beautiful Black Texans in this carousel and joyous Juneteenth especially to y’all. @ninachanel, you did that! ❤️🖤💚💙

If you’d didn’t cop a tee the first round, now’s your time. Sales will end (for good) around July 4th.

Yay!!! This was a beautiful reminder of a beautiful, zany, wild ride that was “Miss LaRaj’s House of Dystopian Futures” with the most beautiful people I’ve been so blessed to share space and creative juices with. The cast, the artistic and creative team—the entire @thecatastrophictheatre fam mean so much to me and have been such pivotal artistic inspirations and supporters and part of my development. Truly truly.

So grateful for this show to be highlighted this way Glasstire. Appreciate this write up so much.
I love theatre so much! And so glad to branch into ecofuturism in my work (and it really being QUEER FUTURISM because hellooooooooo) and a reminder that freedom ain’t no fun if ALL the homies can’t have none.

And that’s on rocks and trees and “caves and twigs and shit.”

(Also, Ms Minnie is literally my favorite character to write in this piece and isn’t highlighted but to totally should be because also helloooo. )
