i’m still twenty something, but i was literally 19 waiting to turn 20 when this song by sza was released.

years ago, i wrote in my journal that i hope to be in a place where i feel safe, at home, and free to be my authentic self. i had only a few goals, one of them being to have a dog by 25. did that (@itszukimonsta)! another was to have a place to call my own, plus side if it’s with me & mine (we did it!! @tenb) . another was hoping i still found time to write poetry. today, i did that!!! (tbh it happens once a year maybe… but my pen still finds paper when it needs to). a silly goal was to bake & decorate a strawberry cake from scratch and on my 28th birthday ive done it! 🎂

there’s so much to be said about the entirety of my 20s so far, but in the end the only one who made it complicated was me lol. i think i’ve finally found a little island of peace. today was so simple, but i feel so loved and so blessed. thank you for all the well wishes ♥️

note: the chocolate cake w strawberry filling was 7/10 but the strawberry cream cheese frosting was 11/10 😌

Happy birthday Cali and her siblings @itszukimonsta @shannonbernatz .
We will have to get them together for a birthday celebration 🥳. You may not be the brightest dog but you are the most loving dog ever and you are so loved.

Cali got to meet her brother Zuko today. The last time they were together was at @bajapaws . They had so much fun and hope they can get together again soon. What a fun day with her brother. Now she is ready for a nap.

west coast diaries // fell in love with san diego 💌✨

• sunburnt + happy 🌞
• learning to prioritize myself and enjoy my own company
• what’s a trip to SD without a visit to @balboapark 🌴
• effortless friendships over anything else 💛
• 🍓 + 🥭 mochis and matching friendship rings purchased from the local farmer’s market 🫶🏼
• in another life, I’m a dog mom living in a quaint suburban neighborhood in SD 💭 less hustle & bustle and more slow living 🍃
• not pictured — Torrey Pines holds a special place in my heart ⛰️ got lost solo hiking there for 2 hrs, but the feeling of accomplishment after reaching the end of the beach trail made it all worth it. ❣️
• spent my last day enjoying incredible poke while watching the sunset on the beach. truly could not have asked for anything more 💘

best one yet ♡ thank you universe for your time, patience, and peace.

somehow, every year of my life gets increasingly more beautiful and exciting. feeling immense gratitude for having the most wonderful people to call family, loved ones, & friends. life can be twisted, confusing, and outright awful—but views like this, nights like this, months like this… it’s all worth it.

happiest of birthdays from your favorite melodramatic scorpio 🧞‍♀️♏️🔮🎨🍬🪅🌄
