Donut forget your voice matters! 🍩🗳️

Putting what I learned at our Common Cause retreat into action! 💗 On September 29, I continued my work as a Common Cause NC Fellow by tabling outside the cafeteria, helping students register to vote, and sharing information about this year’s election.

Students who were already registered or registered at our table received a donut, and we also shared buttons, water bottles, and stickers with students stopping by!

Being Miss Senior and a Common Cause Fellow gives me the opportunity to serve my fellow Bears and help our campus stay informed and involved. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and registered. Your voice matters, and so does your vote! 🐻👑

Putting my fellowship into action! 🗳️❤️

Common Cause North Carolina recently teamed up with Shaw University to host a field day where students could enjoy games, connect with one another, and learn more about their voting rights. We wanted to create a space that was fun and welcoming while also reminding students of the importance of being informed, getting involved, and using their voices.

As a Common Cause fellow, it meant a lot to bring this work directly to my Shaw University community. Civic engagement does not always have to feel serious or intimidating—sometimes it can begin with a conversation, a game, and a community coming together. 🐻✨

I’m so grateful to announce that I have been selected to serve as a fellow with Common Cause North Carolina! 🗳️💚

Last weekend, I traveled to Greensboro for our fellowship orientation alongside students from surrounding HBCUs, including North Carolina A&T, Winston-Salem State University, Livingstone College, Bennett College, and Fayetteville State University.

Throughout the weekend, we learned more about the pillars of Common Cause and the work being done to protect our democracy. We discussed voting rights, election security, and the counties and communities that are at greater risk of facing barriers to the ballot.

It was inspiring to learn, connect, and exchange ideas with other HBCU students who are equally passionate about making a difference. I’m excited to bring everything I learned back to my Shaw University community and continue growing as a leader and advocate. This is only the beginning! ✨🐻
