Life has a way of dealing you a hand you never expected. Sometimes the odds are stacked against you, sometimes the weight you carry isn’t visible to anyone else, and sometimes you have to learn how to move forward without everyone understanding the journey.

This 10K was about more than running 6.2 miles. It was about discipline. It was about setting a vision for my life and being intentional about becoming the man I know I’m capable of being.

With every step, as my feet hit the pavement, the noise got quieter. The doubts, the opinions, the distractions… all of it faded. It was just me, my breathing, my thoughts, and the work I’ve put in to get here.

I’ve learned that real change doesn’t happen because you wish for it. It happens because you commit to it. You put in the work. You stay consistent. You hold yourself accountable. And you make a decision to be better than you were yesterday.

Of course, I want the people around me to recognize the growth and see the man I’m becoming. But I’ve also learned that I can’t depend on anyone else’s validation.

I know what I’ve overcome.
I know what it took to get here.
And I know what I accomplished.

That has to be enough.#adidiasrunning #runners #strava #activedads #rodwavemusic

10K. One powerful milestone.

Today, we celebrate Kingston on his first 10K at Around the Crown, surrounded by over 16 Black men from Active Dads… a brotherhood built on health, accountability, and growth.

This wasn’t just a race. It was a reminder that every big goal starts with one small step.

Climbing the ladder.
One mile at a time.

Kingston, this is only the beginning. Keep climbing. Keep pushing. Keep becoming.

When there’s a will, there’s a way!! Jumping into a new career field from scratch was quite the journey. Imagine my surprise when the academically challenging major was academically challenging 😂. But all and all, I want to thank everyone who has supported me through the late nights and early mornings (especially my family).
