Weightlifting Wednesday

I want to talk “MICROS”! The word in of itself gets a bad rap, and is severely underestimated in relevance to our lives. Example, microorganisms 🦠 are what cause you to get sick, micronutrients allow your food to process.

Here, I’m performing a bench press using a progressive overload protocol within just this session, a microcycle. This approach is beneficial when you want to address all the levels of muscular development:

10+ reps = endurance (135lbs)
5+ reps = hypertrophy (185lbs)
3+ reps = strength (205lbs)
1 rep = maximum or failure training (225lbs)

Ever feel like your body changed after 30?

You’re not imagining it.

As women get older, hormone changes, a gradual loss of muscle, and a slower metabolism can make it easier to gain weight and harder to lose it.

The good news? One of the most effective ways to fight back is strength training. 💪

Building and maintaining muscle helps:
✔️ Support a healthier metabolism
✔️ Improve strength for everyday life
✔️ Protect your bones and joints
✔️ Increase energy and confidence
✔️ Help you stay independent as you age

At MaxOut Personal Training, we specialize in helping adults build strength in a supportive, non-intimidating environment. You don’t need to be fit to start—you just need to take the first step.

Throwback Thursday!

In my graduate program we were tasked to make a “commercial” based on our specific emphasis of study. I wrote my thesis on flexibility mainly directed at the benefit analysis 🧐 of stretching programs.

I’ll admit, it’s a little cheesy, but I believe it’s reflective of my personality and motivations. If anything, my hope 🤞🏾 and prayer 🙏🏾 is the people I am entrusted with will all reap the benefits of my theories and practices.
