POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Watching this reel makes me feel SO emotional, and I’m trying to pinpoint why.

Last weekend I ran the @ragnarrelay Ultra Trail Race in Zion, and it was undoubtedly one of the most mentally challenging races I’ve ever done.

It was also one of the most fun race experiences in my life that I had the honor of doing with my amazing team #TheComebackCollective with @hack3rx @dansarmiento @michael.scott.horn

This was a relay race where we divided up running about 120-ish miles among 4 people. We each ran about 31 miles (divided among 3 legs) with about 3,654 ft elevation gain.

I came into the race with a cold and not being able to workout for the past week. At the same time, the altitude in Zion was high with a starting elevation of over 6,000ft.

The first lap I ran (the Green & Yellow loops) felt like absolute death. I ran in the afternoon when it was hot AF, and the minute I started running I knew I was in trouble. My heart felt like it was about to explode, my lungs were barely able to breathe, and the dirt from the soft trail was making its way into my nose and eyes constantly.

After the first 8 miles I ran, I seriously considered calling it already. I had no idea how the hell I would run over 20 miles feeling this terrible, as if I’d never worked out in my life.

My 2nd run (Red-Green loops) started at 12:30am midnight. My headlamp was very dim and I could barely see the trail. I tripped and stumbled SO MANY TIMES and yelled “AHHH!!” because I thought I was going to eat shit. But the stars were so gorgeous that it was worth it.

Finally… my last run (Yellow-Red loops). The hardest run of them all… The longest distance and highest elevation gain. I was bracing myself for the worst… but actually, something crazy happened that I did not expect at all.

I felt…. Amazing.

Went for a long walk. Walked 39,000 steps over 8 hours, with a lunch break and great company. Just about 20 miles. Thanks for coming out @itzthetribevibes
I need better walking shoes lol

Had a lot of fun in my first @hyroxamerica Mixed Doubles competition with @hack3rx last Saturday!! 🔥🔥😝😝

Something I’m extremely proud of is how much lighter that 330# sled push felt to me on the day of!! (Even if that weight is more than triple my weight!)

I am also VERY glad that I did this race with a partner (shoutout to @hack3rx for killing it)!!! This amount of cardio on my own would have SUCKED. 🤣

Thank you so much to my amazing partner @hack3rx for encouraging me, for pushing me to do burpee broad jumps all the way TO THE END lol, for motivating me to workout, and for supporting me during those awful wall balls 😂😂💪💪

Thank you so much to my tribe @itzthetribevibes for being the BEST CHEER SQUAD EVER!! For meeting me and Mark at most of the runs and for being the best camera and film people ever. I’m so lucky to have you all in my life!! 🥹 @michael.scott.horn @dansarmiento @rpearl9 @jzillah

Initially I was really hesitant to do the Men’s Open weight in this competition since the sled push honestly felt impossible at first.

You never know your own strength until you decide to keep going and never give up on yourself!!! 🔥🔥💪💪

Holiday parties are never normal with this bunch.

The only group of people I know that would make burpees look fun 🙌🏽

This past year of being active has certainly set the base for a desired longevity (and another race distance 😉).
