I stepped outside my cozy-romance comfort zone and had so much fun escaping into the dark, immersive world of LUMEN: Rebirth! With its dystopian fantasy setting, political intrigue, class divide, and incredible worldbuilding, this was such a unique change of pace for me. ✨

Thank you so much to author Ivan Blažić for sending me a physical copy! If you’re looking for an epic indie fantasy to completely transport you, add this one to your TBR!

The sun has gone and humanity survives on Lumen; bottled radiance of a forgotten age.

I have never read anything with a steampunk theme before so I was very intrigued with this book and its characters. I have been reading this book over a course of a few days so that I could really get deep into the world that this author has created.

It was a unique and complex history of this world that the author has created. Its not something that I have read before which did keep me reading. This book felt like it was giving off various vibes such as the underground city being divided which gave me a kind of Hunger Games vibes the social class layout of how those live and survive in this world.

The wealthy are surrounded by wealth and beauty while living in The Halo, while the lower classes live in the slums - The Gloom. The unique governing system was something that I hadn't seen before and characters which stood out for themselves.

This world is full of secrets and its one that you do find yourself wanting to discover, a rebellion, trust that is earned but not without doubt.

I did thoroughly enjoy this book and I would gladly pick up the next book to continue this story. I do think the addition of perhaps a map and something that would highlight how the world is broken down as at times I did forget but that was more than likely me.

But I really did enjoy it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

✨ Step into Aurelion, a massive underground city of smoky factories, dark slums, and stolen light.✨

If you love gripping dystopian fantasies with rich world-building, high-stakes politics, and incredible magic, then "LUMEN: Rebirth" by Ivan Blažić is your next must-read!

The story follows two very different characters on a collision course:
'Lucy Farrow': A young scavenger from the pitch-black slums of the Gloom who discovers a mysterious vial of pure golden light and is revealed to be the prophesied 'Radiant'.
'Prince Cassian Soleyne': A rebellious royal from the beautiful Inner Halo who uncovers a forbidden family secret—ancient 'Lightbearer blood' flows in his own veins!

Together, they must navigate a world of corrupt rulers, tense family mysteries, and a city on the brink of a massive rebellion. Will they find a way to bring true light to a city living in darkness?

💬 Would you rather live in the opulent, sunlit Inner Halo or run with the street-smart crews of the Gloom? Let me know in the comments! 👇
