Pfw f/w 26-27 v2: Alexander McQueen-Chanel timeline

McQueen show was actually better than I expected: I loved the glam, set design and music tied together the experience. When it comes to garments, obviously it’s not Lee’s McQueen, and nothing will come close to his craftsmanship, but I was pleasantly surprised with great details,especially embroidery, hoods and masks (and bags!!) All that but without a storyline- something that was crucial in Lee’s collections- it felt watered down,anti climactic and very commercial (which is not inherently a bad thing btw.)

Chanel on the other hand met my expectations when it comes to craftsmanship, fabrics, details (especially embroidery). Loved the second part of the runway, especially mermaid like pastels and hair!!! Very good soundtrack too. Overall i really enjoy Matthiew’s Chanel.

And what happened next was fashion history 😫🥹

We thought we’re watching exclusive fashion show screening (which was a great addition to the last LWP of the season). @betsyjohnson_ showed us a great UNIFORM collection , with the soundtrack that helped to tell a story. And when the curtain rose? Chills. None of the audiences knew abt the other side. And then gospel started singing, everyone joined and tears were shed. Very unifying experience, I’m so glad I could be part of this. Thank You @lawatchparty team for making it happen, on that high level of production. I would say it will be hard to beat this.
It was such an intense, joyful and tiring experience but one of the best so far. 🥹🫶
Also during those two days I was wearing almost(!) full outfits of own designs, parts of them were assembled on the same day but 🤪 still very happy and proud of that.
