Not bad for a little 440i. 😮‍💨

This pass was made back in May on the PURE 900 at 36 PSI. A lot has changed since then, and trust me, there’s still PLENTY left in the tank.

We’ve been putting in work behind the scenes, dialing in the setup and making improvements along the way. The car has come a long way, but we’re nowhere near satisfied. There’s a lot more to this setup than what these numbers show.

As the season comes to an end, it’s almost time to put Jet away. Didn’t get to show everything we wanted to this year, but that’s part of the game. No rush, no shortcuts. We’re building something that’s worth the wait.

Lowered it? Now your alignment is off. Here's what that means 👇

Redlined 101 · Episode 3: alignment, explained.

• Camber (from the front): wheel tilt. A little negative = grip in corners. Too much = inner-edge wear
• Toe (from above): toe-in = stable, toe-out = sharp but twitchy. Toe is the real tire killer
• Ackerman (you asked): in a turn, the inside wheel steers sharper because it runs a tighter circle. It's set by the steering-arm angle, so it changes with knuckles or an angle kit, not on the rack
• Caster (from the side): steering axis tilt. More = planted at speed, heavier steering
• Scrub radius (you asked): where the steering axis meets the road vs the tire's center. Lower offset = more scrub = heavier steering
• How it's measured: cameras reading targets on every wheel, to a hundredth of a degree (not string and a ruler 😅)
• How it's set: tie rods for toe; cam bolts, camber plates or adjustable arms for camber; caster plates or arms for caster
• Order on the rack: caster → camber → toe

That clunk over bumps? Something's worn out. Here's what fails first 👇

Redlined 101 · Episode 5: what wears out, and what to upgrade first.

• Bushings: cracked rubber = clunks, wandering, uneven tire wear. Upgrade: polyurethane (sharper, a bit more vibration)
• Ball joints: on jack stands, rock the wheel top to bottom. Any play = replace
• Tie rod ends: rock it side to side. Play = wandering + bad toe. Align after
• Shocks: push a corner down hard. More than one bounce = done. Leaks and nose dive too
• End links: rattle over small bumps. Cheapest fix on the list
• Top mounts: clunk when you turn the wheel parked
• Upgrade order: tires → replace worn parts → dampers → sway bars. Lowered? Adjustable arms for camber

Today the Type R got its H&R lowering springs & SPC Rear Camber kit installed at Ivan’s Alignment in Cliffside Park, NJ. Big shout-out to Ivan for taking care of my car and getting the job done right! 🙏🏼🔥

I chose H&R because I wanted a clean, minimal drop less than an inch all around just enough to kill some of that wheel gap without making the car ridiculously low. Once the springs fully settle, the stance should look even better. 😮‍💨

I considered the Eibach Pro-Kit, but that would’ve dropped it around an inch or more. I live in New Jersey the roads are fucking horrible and I’m not trying to destroy my Mugen body kit or scrape everywhere I go. I’ll already have to drive carefully at this height, so I can only imagine going any lower. 😂

another meditation day at track and going home with a new PB of 1:30.9 with lots of time still on the table. 50 cars advance group was like being on the bqe on friday. can’t wait for fall track days

32 got some new upgrades this time including 1pc carbon driveshaft, nagisa fender brace and @voltexracing type 4 wing. it was a proper learning day for me to understand how everything works together.
