2 weeks passed?? #FFXIVFanfest feels like it has been ages ago and I miss it so much already. Playing mommy and daddy Leveilleur with @nonchan.cosplay on Sunday was much more fun then we both expected! We spent our afternoon making memories as the married couple and I did some storytelling for a Leveilleurs day out with all of them for this reel :3 Thank you to everyone who spent time with us. Especially to @aeclislibra who at some point carried 4 bags AND took most of the photos and videos you see here! Did you... ..HEAR an ocarina before #FFXIVFanfest catwalk? ..FEEL the excitement when @soken_masayoshi visited the lined up cosplayers before the start? ..THINK of how you would regret it, if you didnt pull together your courage when you are in proximity of someone you admire? When Soken-san, sound director and composer of the FFXIV soundtrack surprised us, I realised I had my ocarina with me. Before I would overthink the situation about what could go wrong, I pushed myself to give into my impulse of playing the Chocobo song. I think I would have regreted it, if I didnt listen to myself and give into the excitement. Luckily the song is mostly in my muscle memory, but for some reason, I did NOT expect people to turn and record me 🤣🤣 I enjoy staying in the background when I play, surprising others with a little melody. I got so nervous, my fingers started shaking, which made playing harder... I can see my anxiety in the second half of the melody, thinking 'dont mess up'! You can see my relief once I stumbled to the end without too many mistakes 😅 However, that courage was not present when meeting Keiko-san. Everyone was so polite and quiet in the waiting line, I did not dare to play. I was already uncomfortable enough that I had to ask if I could skip the line, when there were 8 minutes left until I had to be at the meeting point of the catwalk, and change my shoes in between! 🤣 If you read until here, thank you for listening! Sometimes you should give into these moments of joy - even with the potential of embarassing yourself. I am glad I pushed through, as I would otherwhise sit and home and maybe think "why didnt I just do it?!" And even if There would have been more mistakes... at least I grasped this moment. As I'm not active on X or bluesky, I did not see this video at first which was posted by livememoria. But I was told by some that they were very curious about who / what it was. So yes.. it was your friendly neighbourhood ocarinist! Next time, I'll finally make a bard cosplay and bring you even more music :) who would like to join?
