@DominiquePetit_ is an architect and creative strategist known for reimagining unfinished or derelict buildings as vibrant public spaces. Driven by a desire to contribute to socioeconomic progress across Africa and challenge dominant narratives of development, she founded @LimboAccra, a spatial design studio in Ghana.

Co-founded in 2018 with Emil Grip, the studio transforms unfinished concrete structures into sites of potential rather than failure. In 2024, this vision expanded into @LimboMuseum, housed within an unfinished building and conceived as a platform for artistic experimentation and critical inquiry into institutional forms.

In this interview, @ivonayw speaks with Petit-Frère about the museum’s origins, its evolving programme, and the principles guiding her practice.

☀️PART☀️TWO☀️SOLO TRAVEL WITH ME☀️!!!☀️

About 5 minutes later after saying I had no idea what the night would hold, I ran into one of my biggest inspirations @chinatowntaylor!!! Just wow! I first met him in person a few weeks ago when I went to Paris to see his solo show @museepicassoparis. I had the privilege to hang out with him, his friends and family every night I was in Paris, which eventually led to me getting an invitation to the vernissage (private viewing) of the @labiennale!

It was so cool to have this special, serendipitous moment of “randomly” seeing him in person here in Venice, where he sad “Of course I remember you! You came to my show all the way from Kentucky!” Hahaha, what a blessing!

He complimented my little bag that @crocs recently sent me due to my ultra viral #bonjour video while in Paris, which organically led to me sharing the amazing story of that 100+ viewed video that has changed my life due to the act of taking a risk and flying to Paris to see Henry’s show. He and his friends said “we need to follow you!” Which led to the clip in this video (I asked permission to tape it and post)!

Stay tuned for PART THREE of my night, because by the end of Part Two…I had truly only just began!!!

A new pulse has entered the Gulf’s cultural landscape with the debut of @ArtBasel Qatar this February in Doha.

Held from February 5th to 7th, the fair brought together 87 galleries and 84 solo presentations across M7 and the Doha Design District, introducing a tightly curated format shaped by Artistic Director Wael Shawky under the theme ‘Becoming’. Focused on transformation and shifting cultural narratives, the open, booth-free model reframed the region as both subject and stage for global contemporary art.

More than 17,000 visitors attended, with strong collector presence from across MENASA and institutional engagement from over 85 museums worldwide, alongside reported sales across diverse price points. Beyond numbers, the fair signaled Qatar’s long-term cultural ambition and a new market confidence in the region.

Ivona Mirkovic traveled to Doha for hube to explore the inaugural edition and speak directly with participating artists and gallerists.
