It is so easy to get swallowed up by the vet school grind! 📚🐶 Between the heavy workload and the constant pressure we put on ourselves, the line between working hard and completely burning out 🥱 is really thin. So many of us are dealing with chronic stress and mental exhaustion 🧠💭, but we just push through it because it feels like that's what we are supposed to do.

Your mental health matters just as much as your grades! 📖✨ Experiencing burnout doesn't mean you aren't cut out for this field—it just means you're human. 🫂💚

☕🌿 Because we all need a break, let's get together this Friday (Oct 16 2026) 🗓️ during lunch 🍱!

🎤 Munatsi Zhangazha will be joining us to talk through real ways to handle the stress of this degree. 🧠💬

🥪 Bring your lunch, bring a friend, and come take a well-deserved pause! 🐾

We hope to see you there💚

Looking back at this time last year when we stood together against breast cancer. Empowering, encouraging, and supporting each other is a lifelong commitment, not just a one-day event. So proud of everyone who showed up, wore pink and black, and made their voices heard at the Faculty of Vet. Together, we are always stronger. 💗🖤

Advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves. In vet med, patient safety is about relentless attention to the unspoken details. Happy International Patient Safety Day! 🔬⚕️ #PatientSafetyDay #VeterinaryMedicine #voiceforthevoiceless #ivsa

Today we pause to remind each other that support saves lives.
A small check‑in, a gentle conversation, a moment of presence; it all matters.
You’re never alone, and reaching out is strength.

Mental health can be difficult to see from the outside.

Not everyone shows that they’re struggling in the same way. Sometimes it’s a change in behaviour, pulling away, feeling overwhelmed, or simply not feeling like yourself.

Pay attention. Check in. Listen without judgement. And remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. 🤍

If you or someone you know needs support outside Latvia, you can find crisis and emotional-support helplines in different countries through Find A Helpline:

Our work this term was shaped by so many people beyond our own team. 💙

To every IVSA Committee, Network and Region we collaborated with, the European Symposium OC, our Committee Coordinator, and everyone who supported the Alumni Network throughout the year, thank you for being part of it.

And especially to all the speakers who shared their time, knowledge, and experiences with our community. Swipe to celebrate the incredible people behind this term’s webinars and talks 🎙️✨

"¿Y si no encuentro mi sitio?"
"¿Y si me equivoco de camino?"
"¿Cómo puedo evitar quemarme?"
"¿Cómo sé cuál es mi propósito?"

Después de hablar con cientos de estudiantes y profesionales veterinarios, cada vez estoy más convencida de una cosa:

No necesitamos tener resuelta toda nuestra carrera.
