Swan Song & Epilogue.

Favorites from my shoot on Lake Michigan over Labor Day weekend. We had planned on a sunrise shoot initially, but after calculating where the sun was going to end up at the end of the day, I knew we had to do this at sunset. I wanted these images to feel like you were at the end of the earth with Ivy. There was a clear theme of finality in this shoot from the moment our toes touched the water. We were blessed with this absolutely stunning sunset and cloud structure, calm water, and personally, I was just lucky enough to work with Ivy.

Some shoots carry anxiety, because I feel like I’m lost on how to pose. Some shoots just work so smoothly, and everything just… clicks. This was a little in between. The process of making great art is hard, and I’m now 4 years into it. When I see photos come out like this, I feel so satisfied with the work I put in. These are truly some of my favorite photos I’ve ever done. And yet, I can think of a million things to improve on. But thats the process, right?

Grateful for my art. Grateful for my love. Grateful for my life.

Thank you for reading
