Gaza’s children have a right to play. They have a right to a childhood. 🍉✨
After months of working from Canada to keep my extended family alive, I am stepping forward to support our community’s most vulnerable kids. I am proud to launch Project Shaghaf (Passion)—a 2-month trauma-informed summer sanctuary and permanent school fund for up to 240 war-affected children in Gaza City.
This 100% women-led project is run on the ground by my resilient sisters, Noura and Sanuora, alongside Ezdehar and a team of experienced local Palestinian educators and workers.
🎨 What your donation builds right now:
A Safe Sanctuary: Drama therapy, traditional Dabke folklore, fine arts, chess, and cognitive math to help kids heal from severe trauma.
Dignified Local Jobs: Directly paying salaries to local teachers, artists, security, and sanitation workers under siege.
A Permanent Legacy: Every single asset (child-safe desks, whiteboards, safety flooring) stays in place to permanently establish a full-time school the moment the camp ends.
📸 Note on visuals: We used AI-generated concepts because the raw reality on the ground in Gaza is much harder to look at. We want to protect the dignity of our children while showing the vibrant, joyful future we are actively fighting to build.
💳 Hosting & Transparency: This campaign is generously hosted by the @apartheid.free.communities Group. As the coordinator here in Canada, I am personally and professionally responsible for managing the funds and ensuring 100% of the proceeds are securely and directly wired straight to our ground team in Gaza.
Our goal is $31,100 CAD. When resources are scarce under a blockade, solidarity is our only currency. Help us bring laughter back to South Rimal.
🔗 HOW TO HELP:

2. SHARE: Send this post to your group chats, community networks, and stories.
Thank you for standing with Noura, Sanuora, Ezdehar, and the beautiful children of Gaza. ❤️🙏

the plans: exercising our democratic rights to march the streets, protest, and show the world what feminists look like! 🥳 🪧

this past sunday, we had the privilege to join the 4th annual @iwdmarchvan in downtown vancouver (my wonderful bestie @katyho_ was a speaker last year and helped to organize the march this year)! 💜

it was a special way to celebrate, amplify, and march with a passionate community, especially when we were all shouting on the streets about the things that matter to us! 🏳️‍🌈🌈🌳🫂 📚

when we are feeling down about all of the terrible things going on in the world, it’s so important that we gather with like-minded people who share our concerns and want to make a positive impact!

reminder: collective action CAN make a difference when it comes to changing the state of the world for the better (it’s been proven again and again throughout history)! 🙂‍↕️

TOGETHER, we CAN and we WILL! ✊🏼💕

🗣️ A big shoutout to the wonderful volunteers and ASL interpreters who worked so hard to make this event run as smoothly as possible (despite the CRAZY wind situation 🌬️)!
